What are the components of a FedEx invoice?
Each invoice is made up of a combination of three sections or types of pages. They are:

  • Remittance page - itemized listing of all charges with a remittance stub.
  • Summary page(s) - listing of shipment details with summary information only.
  • Detail page(s) - listing of individual shipments that include comprehensive shipment details.

What does Invoice Option mean?
The default invoice Option 3 is comprised of the remittance, Summary and Detail sections. You can choose from several options based on the level of shipment detail that you need.

What are the nine available invoice options?
Option 1 - FedEx Express Detail and FedEx Ground Detail
Option 2 - FedEx Express Summary and FedEx Ground Summary
Option 3 - FedEx Express and FedEx Ground Summary and Detail
Option 4 - FedEx Express Summary and Detail and FedEx Ground Summary
Option 5 - FedEx Express Summary and FedEx Ground Summary and Detail
Option 6 - FedEx Express Detail and FedEx Ground Summary
Option 7 - FedEx Express Summary and FedEx Ground Detail
Option 8 - FedEx Express Summary and Detail and FedEx Ground Detail

If I choose an option can I go back and change it?
Yes.

Will my FedEx Express duty and tax invoice include detail?
Yes, you will continue to receive your FedEx Express and FedEx Ground duty and tax invoice in the Summary and Detail format, irrespective of the invoice option selected.

What has changed on my FedEx Ground transportation invoice?
If you accept the brokerage-inclusive service option, the Clearance Entry Fee will appear as a line item on your invoice.

What methods of payment may I use to pay for my FedEx shipments?
If shipments are billed to your FedEx account, you can pay for all FedEx Express and FedEx Ground services by:

  • Cheque (including cashier's cheques)
  • Money order

Payment in cash is available at designated FedEx locations. At locations where cash is not accepted, you may pay by cheque or charge to a valid FedEx account number in good standing.

Can I link my FedEx account to my credit card?
Yes. If you currently receive invoices, and want to link your FedEx account to a credit card, please call 1.800.GoFedEx 1.800.463.3339. You will subsequently receive regular Activity Records from FedEx detailing all your shipments instead of invoices and all your shipping charges will automatically appear on your credit card statement. All accounts that are opened online at fedex.ca are automatically linked to a credit card.
